Emma

I work with women and couples during their reproductive season: family planning, fertility and infertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum and loss. I specialize in reproductive mental health and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) and am Perinatal Mental Health certified (PMH-C) by Postpartum Support International. I am also an Art of Holding provider, a Circle of Security facilitator, a facilitated attunement (FAN) provider and a certified grief care professional. My own three children inform my lived experience as well as over a decade working as a birth and postpartum doula.

My style is warm and conversational. I am attachment oriented and implement interventions from several relational theories (Polyvagal, Emotion Focused, Interpersonal Neurobiology) and I also integrate evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) strategies. I focus on mindful self-compassion as the organizing structure for emerging motherhood.

I specialize in traumatic birth, intrusive/scary thoughts, infertility, anxiety, maternal anger/rage, role transition and grief and loss.

I focus on strengths and resilience and see therapy not just as a tool to solve life’s problems but as a foundation for growth that provides an opportunity for wholeness and self-discovery.
